6-8 June 2012
Shanghai, China

China has enjoyed strong sustained economic growth in the past decade fuelled by its expanding commercial and industrial sectors, and demand for Chinese exports. This success has resulted in a rapid migration of the population to urban centres in China, which together with demands from the commercial and industrial sectors, has place huge pressures on China’s urban water infrastructure. It has also created numerous challenges for water practitioners and policy makers such as water source pollution, water resource scarcity, system inefficiencies and climate change. The new 12th China Five Year Plan that was unveiled in 2011 demonstrates the efforts of China to address these pressing issues by allocating up to 30 billion RMB to the research and development of water systems.
As a strategic partner of Aquatech China, IWA will be organizing a two-day Conference (6-7 June) and a one-day Utility Leaders Forum (6 June) to allow leaders in urban water management, water researchers, practitioners, industry and users in China to exchange practical experiences, observations, and ideas on the different solutions that can be applied.
The 5th edition of Aquatech China will be held at the World Expo Center from 6-8 June 2012 in Shanghai, China. Organized by Amsterdam RAI, this annual trade show brings together the worlds of water technology and water management, aiming to present integrated solutions and a holistic approach to the water challenges facing Asia.
