Disinfection
Disinfection Group has a programme that considers the disinfection and inactivation principles to design facilities for disinfection in water, wastewater, sludge or excreta.
The transfer of knowledge on new disinfection technologies is emphasised, considering needs for low, middle and high income regions. Another major topic is the issue of disinfection residuals within the distribution system and, as importantly, the by-products of the process. Disinfection applications cover water and wastewater treatment and reuse.
The upcoming SG conference "Disinfection and Inactivation for Water, Wastewater and Sludge" will be held from 26 to 29 November 2012, in México City, Mexico. More information relating to this conference can be found on the IWA event webpage.
