The objective of the E3 specialist group is to provide an international discussion forum for new and innovative concepts in environmental engineering education.
E3 at universities is still a rapidly growing discipline where the scope of Environmental Engineering is by no means defined: in some universities EEE grew out of traditional water hygiene (water supply, sewerage) strongly related to Civil Engineering, in others it relates more to Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or its background may be much broader and relate to Environmental Natural Sciences and include water, soil and air. The focus may be on technical infrastructures or relate more to resources management.
