Odours and Volatile Emissions
The aim of the group is to provide an international forum for activities dealing with all kinds of gaseous emissions into the atmosphere, especially odour emissions and emissions of volatile inorganic and organic compounds (VOCs), from wastewater collection, treatment and disposal systems.
This includes promoting international cooperation of research on adverse odours and VOC emissions; standardisation of sensory and chemical measurement techniques; measurement of emission rates from liquid surfaces under a variety of conditions; modelling of atmospheric dispersion and transport, management and control of emissions by physical, chemical and biological treatment methods to meet regulatory requirements.
The last group conference was 4th specialized conference on odours and VOCs, held 17-21 October 2011, in Victoria, Brazil.
