IWA Development Solutions

- ideas that work

Billions lack access to safe water and sanitation, leading to disease, death and negative impacts on the economies of many low and middle income countries. The poor and vulnerable are affected most.

The international community recognises a need to provide sustainable water ans sanitation services for all. Yet progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are off-track and evidence of ‘what works’ and the ‘know-how’ with which to achieve change and reform is frequently lacking.

IWA Development Solutions addresses this shortage. It provides sector professionals with the tools to sharpen their own service delivery and supports closing the ‘know-how’ gap in target regions of Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Development Solutions aims to:

  • Support innovation – promoting technical and non-technical ‘step changes’ in practice
  • Network experience – foster learning amongst professionals about solutions to common challenges
  • Build preparedness – help sector professionals cope with unprecedented natural and man-made changes.
