Forum for Urban Disaster Resiliency

The Forum promotes global societal awareness of the challenges posed to local urban governments, municipalities, utilities and hospitals by the growing frequency of extreme natural disasters in vulnerable regions. The ultimate goal of the Forum is to reinforce the capacity of building environmentally sustainable water supply and sanitation systems for disaster resilient societies.

For this purpose, the Forum is focused on effectively mobilizing the international community, and promoting north-south and south-south experience sharing and international cooperation. The forum brings together local governments, public and private water supply operators, urban stakeholders and major consumers, the scientific community, media, national and international regulatory agencies, public health institutions, educational institutions, the financial sector, and international aid organisations.
