Partners

  • WSMART is a close partner in working on pilot projects and the Forum for Urban Disaster Resilience
  • WHO is a partner in Aqua Log, and IWA is also promoting the work of the network for Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage (HWTSS).
  • IWA is a recent member of the WASH cluster www.humanitarianreform.org
  • UNICEF, Oxfam and UN Habitat are often collaborating partners
  • IWA recognises the need to cooperate with other leading and complementary initiatives and agencies in the emergency field such as ACF, Tearfund, MSF, CARE and WaterAid and welcome other's involvement in the programme.

Linking to to other activities in IWA and with partners:

  • Drinking Water Quality Programme - IWAs existing work on water safety plans have great potential to include elements of disaster management and as such constitute contingency planning. This work can be rolled out in the existing Bonn network of partners already implementing water safety plans.
  • Cities of the Future - As future cities need to also be disaster resilient, the two programmes in IWA try to develop as many synergies as possible.
