YWP Engagement

The Young Water Professionals Programmes seeks to engage with young members of the Association and encourage their involvement in a variety of activities.

The Programme will also collaborate with other organisations to work towards its strategic objectives and extend the young water professionals network.

  • Support to United Nations Agencies IWA’s Young Water Professionals and Global Development Solutions Programmes are working in cooperation with UNICEF’s water environment and sanitation (WES) section to support mutual objectives
  • World Water Monitoring Day IWA in partnership with the Water Environment Federation (WEF), promotes and implements the annual World Water Monitoring Day on 18 October to raise awareness and stimulate interest in the importance of clean water for everyone on the planet.

As a result of the engagement of YWP Programme in different projects, is the creation of the Young Water Professionals Support Groups. The Support Groups allow IWA YWP to work in a volunteer basis in different water related projects and at the same time allows them to acquire knowledge that they will be able to use in during their career. Another important aspect of these groups is the network opportunities that they offer.

Currently the YWP Support Groups that are active are:

  • World Water Monitoring Day YWP Support Group
  • SANICON YWP Support Group
  • Sustainability YWP Support Group
