IWA’s Young Water Professionals and Global Development Solutions Programmes are working in cooperation with UNICEF’s water environment and sanitation (WES) section to support mutual objectives.
The collaboration will provide young water professionals with an opportunity to understand the work of UNICEF-WES and where appropriate be part of the wider programme, working at national, regional or international levels. The UNICEF-WES section works with government and other partners to create conditions for change – or enabling environments – to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of all water and sanitation programmes. Such programmes address, community and household water security; water, sanitation and education; and water and sanitation in emergencies.
