IWA Professional Development Award

This award is presented in association with my-water-career.com – the recruitment website of water21 – and recognises companies in the water sector that are making a significant contribution to the professional development of young employees under 35 years of age.
The Nomination period for the 2010 IWA Professional Development Award opened on the 12 of August 2009 (International Youth Day) and will run until the 2nd of April 2010.

Nominations must come from young employees of an IWA corporate member stating how their employer has supported and nurtured professional development within the corporate environment. Some examples of the support typically received by Young Water Professionals could be:

  • An outstanding graduate recruitment programme
  • Succession planning
  • Individual career counselling
  • Formal mentoring programmes
  • On-going internal training activities

When judging the nominations, the decision will be based on:

  • Accessibility – Is the programme, activity relevant and open for all young employees within the company
  • Innovation – New initiatives
  • Impact – Nominations should clearly demonstrate the impact of the programme or activity on their career, their peers and their employer

The 2010 award will be presented at the World Water Congress 2010 in Montreal, Canada, Septermber 2010.

To submit a nomination, complete the Nomination Form, making sure that is compiles with all the Criteria, and send it with a zip file containing any relevant information/materials (max 4.6MB) to ywp@iwahq.org.
